Some networks respond with your own number when you dial service codes such as *#100#. These are USSD (Unstructured Supplementary Service Data) requests.
Important caveats
Carrier-specific: Codes differ across countries and providers; many have none.
Device/plan dependent: Prepaid/MVNO plans often don’t return a number.
Roaming quirks: While roaming, the home network code may not work.
